Scholarly Communications

A guide to help you navigate the publishing process.

What is Scholarly Communication?

Scholarly Communication is defined by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) as the system through which research and scholarly writings are created, evaluated for quality, disseminated to the scholarly community, and preserved for future use.

If you are a JPS team member involved in creating works like articles or presentations, you are a part of scholarly communication! You will need to evaluate publishers, follow copyright laws, recognize predatory publishing and learn about open scholarship, and maintain a scholarly identity.
